Trailers Pull Up Your Socks

Submitted by: Alan Ross

It is not as if you have noticed late that you are being called a trailer. It is a long journey that starts even without you noticing that you are lacking in many aspects of life. If it doesn t become your second nature, fortunately for you, you will notice that for time and again peers have overtaken you. Does it mean that your composition is unsuited for leadership or is it a simple better-guy-won-the-race case? In this article, let us have an in depth view about the matter as it concerns every one in the society.

Why Are Some of Us Trailers

Let us see how they can be described, without pun. A trailer is someone who takes more time than necessary; someone who lags behind others. A scientific dissection of the case could reveal many things than known already. But a deeper psycho social analysis is all the more important in understanding the cause and rehabilitation.

Socially trailers are losers of opportunities until they realize their costly mistakes. They just have the opposite qualities of leaders. They are not organized in their thoughts, life, planning, and consequently they get all significant things messed up miserably, time and again. What is worse, they notice that they-are-what-they-are and the fear of repetition leads to further mistakes. They are always engrossed with trivial things and as a result they fail to see beyond their problems. Their social circle is small and is generally composed of like minded people. William Shakespeare sums it up aptly in Hamlet (1600 AD) as We know what we are; we know not what we may be . Life is made up of largely irrelevancies for them.

Is It the End of the Road for Losers?

Life continues to go in circles for trailers unless they get out of that mental block. Mental block which prevents them from getting mingled with normal people. Motivational books, counseling, interaction with winners all help to an extent. The rehabilitation, in its full effect will be possible by instilling confidence.

What better way to teach swimming than pushing pupils into the pool? In the practical life, one can t of course, go by metaphors like this one. But let s accept the fact; losers have perennially been taking recourse into their shells whenever they see or meet loss and further building reluctance around them. Forcible exposure to rigors of life with the life guard by the pool side they tend to tumble, twist, gulp a mouth of water before finally swimming.

Trailers pull up your socks; it is time you ran the race of life.
